Carousel's "Easy" Litter

Diary - Page 9

March 4th - Afternoon

Well I did it, moved the pups out to the garage pen 6x12' gives LOTS more room to play. Have new toys and move around.
They also got their first meal! Pic below.
More toys will be added this weekend as well as more pictures of their new set up

enjoy first meal pictures!

clean up crew!

Also - Puppies ATE more than they played in their food. This in my book means they are ready to be fed.
I do not push food too early on puppies, I want to feed them when they are ready for more food than what their mom has but I also want their gut to have time continue to mature. I think the timing was just right for the pups. I plan to feed them again in the morning. Cayenne is still nursing and still has full access, well UNLESS they are eating. Also their food is the regular ground up kibble I feed, I run it through food processor dry, then soak it in hot water nothing else, in the past I added things like goats milk etc. But I found the one switch seems easier on the puppies! Pups are also getting "clicked" when I put their food down as they continue to make the connection on future clicker training
